Target

Many species of aphids of all stages.

APHIDALIA in bottles is recommended as a corrective measure in biological sysems when aphid populations increase, and aphids appear in colonies. Always use APHIPAR/ERVIPAR/APHILIN and APHIDEND for continuous aphid control.

APHIDALIA in cotton bags is specially for application in trees (Tilia spp., Acer spp., Castanea spp.)

Introduction

Product in bottles:

  • on infested leaves
  • for heavy curative treatments, apply some material where most aphids are
  • the product can also be applied in DIBOX applicators

Product in cotton bags:

  • open the bag and fix it with nail or wire stitch near the first branch on the tree
  • for heavy infestations and a large amount of twigs, apply more bags
  • apply 1 bag per 25 cm diameter of the stem of the tree, maximum 3 bags per tree

 

Storage and handling

  • storage after receipt: 1-2 days
  • storage temperature: 8-10°C/47-50°F
  • in the dark

 

Remarks

The ladybirds also eat mummies of parasites.

 

Appearance

Larvae: grey to black, with 0-1 yellow stripes on both sides of the body and one in the middle

Eggs: yellow, in clusters underneath the leaves

Adults: ± 8 mm, colour can vary: red with 2 black dots or black with red dots

 

Mode of action

Adult ladybirds and larvae eat the aphids completely. Eggs are laid in aphid colonies. After emerging the larvae will search for aphids. Reproduction is not expected.

 

Visual effect

Aphid colonies where the predatory larvae appear are usually eradicated within a week.
