Contains: parasitized butterfly eggs, from which 50,000 parasitic wasps hatch

Egg stages of several butterfly species, like Mamestra, Laconobia, Chrysodeixis and Autographa.

Introduction

  • open package carefully in the greenhouse
  • bend strips and tear off. Start tearing opposite hang-up hole
  • suspend the cards low in the crop
  • do not touch the pupae, they are easily damaged

 

Storage and handling

  • storage after receipt: 1-2 days
  • storage temperature: 10-15°C/50-59°F
  • in the dark

 

Remarks

The black (empty) pupae stay on the card after emergence.

 

Appearance

Female adults: size ± 0.6 mm, black head, black thorax, yellow abdomen

Other stages: develop inside host

 

Mode of action

Female adult parasitic wasp parasitizes butterfly eggs.

 

Visual effect

The first parasitized eggs can be observed in the crop about 1 week after introduction. Parasitized butterfly eggs colour black. In large butterfly eggs parasites can lay several eggs and more parasites per egg will emerge.
