Target
The eggs are an alternative food source for both the adults and nymphs of the predatory bugs Macrolophus caliginosus and Dicyphus hesperus when whitefly is absent. This helps the predatory bugs to build up a population in the absence of the pest.

Introduction
- introduce the eggs from the first Macrolophus caliginosus introduction until the first whitefly or leaf-miner infections appear
- spray a little water on the leaves before introducing the eggs
- distribute the eggs evenly on the same plants on which Macrolophus caliginosus is introduced (100 spots per hectare, every spot consists of 10 plants)
- introduce the eggs on the middle of the plants. Not too high to avoid dehydration of the eggs by direct sunlight, not too low to avoid early removal of the eggs by deleafing
- mark the introduction spots with yellow signal-clips for easy monitoring
Storage and handling
- leave bottle with lid closed to acclimatize in glasshouse to prevent condensation inside. This avoids the formation of lumps of eggs.

- storage temperature: 8-10°C/47-50°F

- Remarks
- Because the eggs are sterilized, no larvae will develop and so there is no danger to the crop.

Eggs: yellow and oblong, approx. 0.6 mm in length
Mode of action
Macrolophus predatory bugs use the eggs as a protein food source.
