Blowing technique offers great advantages
In many ornamental, vegetable and tree nursery crops, the use of biological pest control can be time-consuming. The Koppert blowers offer you a solution and deliver savings in labour of around 80% compared with manual introduction. Koppert offers 3 different devices:
Airobug: This blowing device can move through the greenhouse by means of an electro-motor, which is powered by a rechargeable battery. It blows the natural enemies over the crop up to a distance of 10-13 metres. The transportation system of every Airobug is eventually custom made, depending on the greenhouse design. If there are heating pipes above the crop these can be used for hanging the Airobug above the crop. If no pipes are available above the crop, the heating pipes on the ground can be used. Most growers who are using the Airobug are very enthusiastic. It saves them a lot of labor and the natural enemies have a very optimum distribution which results in a better crop protection. Airbug: This device works the same as the Airobug, but is semi-automatic and is operated by hand. The Airbug is only suitable for use in situations in which it is possible to walk in amongst the crop. It blows the material up to a distance of at least 4 metres from the Airbug. Click here for more information and the demonstration movie (scroll down).
Mini-Airbug: This is the smallest of the Koppert blowing devices. The Mini-Airbug has been specially developed to quickly distribute predatory mites in either pest hot-spots or manually over the entire crop. It distributes the material up to a distance of approx. 1.5 to 2 metres from the Mini-Airbug. To read more about this convenient and handy device click here or watch the demonstration movie.
Ask your local Koppert (distributor) for more information and possibilities for your specific situation.
