Neue Schlupfwespe hält rote Laus und grüne Pfirsichblattlaus im zaum
Die biologische Blattlausbekämpfung stellt im Paprikaanbau eine der großen Herausforderungen dar. Bei der Suche nach neuen Schlupfwespen gegen Paprikablattläuse durch Wageningen UR Glastuinbouw und Koppert Biological Systems hat sich Aphidius matricariae als effizientester Nützling erwiesen.
Koppert hat die Schlupfwespe Aphidius matricariae aufgrund der positiven Forschungsergebnisse in sein Sortiment aufgenommen. Der Name des erhältlichen Produkts lautet Aphipar-M. Vor zwei Wochen wurde Wim Grootscholte von 4 Evergreen (führenden Erzeuger von Paprika) die erste Flasche offiziell überreicht.
Forschungsanlass
Gegen Schädlinge wie Thrips und Spinnmilben kommen seit Jahren effektive biologische Maßnahmen zum Einsatz, aber gegen Blattläuse wird noch in vielen Fällen chemisch vorgegangen. Aufgrund der immer höheren Anforderungen an Rückstandshöchstmengen und der Beschränkung der einsetzbaren chemischen Mittel ist es darüber hinaus sinnvoll, ein wirkungsvolles biologisches Maßnahmensystem zur Bekämpfung von Blattläusen zu entwickeln. Insbesondere im Ökoanbau ist die Blattlaus schwer zu kontrollieren, trotz der großen Bandbreite an natürlichen Feinden, wodurch Ökobauern häufig mit Problemen wie Honigtau und Ertragsverlusten zu kämpfen haben.
Schneller im Griff
Schlupfwespen sind seit vielen Jahren der wichtigste Nützling zur Bekämpfung der Blattlaus, weil sie der einzige natürliche Feind sind, der die Blattläuse mit seiner Entwicklungsgeschwindigkeit erreichen kann. Die bekanntesten Schlupfwespen sind Aphidius colemani und Aphidius ervi. Die Untersuchungen haben sehr deutlich gezeigt, dass Aphidius matricariae die rote Laus (Myzus persicae nicotianae) schneller unterdrückt als die gängigen Parasiten. Dies ist bei der Bekämpfung des Schädlings ein großer Vorteil, denn wenn die rote Laus erst dichte Kolonien gebildet hat, ist sie schwer zu bekämpfen. Für den Ökoanbau bedeutet dies, dass die Kultur länger stehen bleiben kann. A. matricariae bekämpft auch Myzus persicae persicae (Grüne Pfirsichblattlaus).
