Introduction

In trees lining aven

open the bag and fix it with nail or wire stitch near the first branch on the tree
for heavy infestations and a large amount of twigs, apply more bags

Remarks

The ladybirds also eat mummies of parasites.

Appearance

Larvae: grey to black, with 0-1 yellow stripes on both sides of the body and one in the middle

Eggs: yellow, in clusters underneath the leaves

Adults: ± 8 mm, colour can vary: red with 2 black dots or black with red dots

Mode of action

Adult ladybirds and larvae eat the aphids completely. Eggs are laid in aphid colonies. After emerging the larvae will search for aphids. Reproduction is not expected.

Visual effect

Aphid colonies where the predatory larvae appear are usually eradicated within a week.
