Precautions
Inhalation of product may cause sensitization in case of mechanical application. Dust mask is recommended as protection for operator and people working near place of application.
Target
- the larvae of various species of thrips (first and second larval stages)
- the eggs and larvae of glasshouse and cotton whitefly (all larval stages)
- also eats pollen and various mite species
LIMONICA can be used in a wide range of salad and ornamental crops, except tomatoes.

Introduction
- Turn and shake gently before use.
- Carefully sprinkle material on leaves.
- Try to avoid letting the material fall immediately to the ground. Do not carry out any work on the crop in the hours after releasing the predatory mites.
- Aim for a minimum of 5000 release points per hectare, evenly distributed over the total surface area.
Environmental conditions
The predatory mite Amblydromalus limonicus is:
- not susceptible to diapause, so can be introduced in winter
- effective at temperatures as low as 13 °C.
Storage and handling
- Storage after receipt: 1-2 days.
- Storage temperature: 12-14°C/54-57°F.
- In the dark.
- Provide ventilation to prevent CO2 accumulation.
Remarks
- Amblydromalus limonicus can also develop on pollen of sweet pepper and other crops.
- Apply preventive introduction on pollen only from the moment when crop flowers continuously.
Appearance
Mobile stages: beige-pink, droplet shaped, 'pushed down' position on short legs
Eggs: oblong, transparant white
All stages can be found in the corner of main vein and lateral veins and in the flowers.
It is not possible to distinguish Amblydromalus limonicus in the field from Amblyseius swirskii, Amblyseius cucumeris and Amblyseius californicus.
Mode of action
Adult predatory mites, nymphs and larvae hunt their prey or wait for it to pass by and then suck it dry.
