Koppert ranked leading horticultural enterprise in the Netherlands

Koppert was voted the leading horticultural enterprise by the Hillenraad 100 – a ranking of the most prominent companies in the Dutch horticulture sector. The announcement was made at the Hortigala held at the Blijdorp Zoo in Rotterdam on Friday last week.

Koppert Directors Henri Oosthoek and Paul Koppert were there to receive the award. ‘Our number one ranking is not only a great honour, it also inspires to keep working towards 100% sustainable agriculture and horticulture worldwide,’ says Henri Oosthoek. ‘We have been working together with nature for the last 50 years to make agriculture and horticulture healthier and more sustainable. We see this prize as an acknowledgement of the importance of this goal,’ Paul Koppert added.

The Hillenraad 100 provides an annual overview of the developments in the sector. Koppert was assessed by a panel of experts and judged to be ‘and excellent and leading company in terms of vision, strategy, growth potential, innovation and sustainability.’

The family company celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. According to the panel of experts, the company is constantly looking at ways to innovate. ‘Although it has been in business for 50 years, it continues to show vitality and to renew itself.’

The jury’s report stated that ‘Koppert Biological Systems was successful in achieving the balance between large-scale, commercial and biological’, and praised the innovation drive of this family company. ‘There is an immense emphasis on renewal and innovation, when you consider new technologies such as ‘Bee Vision’. This is also reflected by the establishment of a new Agronomic Development department to bring the news to the market. Koppert is justifiably the new number one.’
