As supplementary food for generalist predatory mites. It works for all our generalist phytoseiid leaf-inhabiting predators: Amblydromalus limonicus, Amblyseius swirskii, Neoseiulus californicus, Neoseiulus cucumeris and Transeius montdorensis.
Packaging:
Cardboard cylinder (0.9 liter), containing 2 million supplementary feeder mites (in all stages) in bran.
Use Predafeed to help maintain or increase the population of generalist predatory mites in the crop. Read our information leaflet 'Supplementary feeding of generalist predatory mites' for more information.
To achieve good establishment of predatory mites, prey mites should be applied frequently. We recommend to release them every week.
Apply on a weekly basis. Start directly together with or just after the first introduction of predatory mites. Continue to apply during the season, even when pest is present.
It is important that the prey mites land on the leaves. They can be released by sprinkling on the leaves with an Air(o)bug or by hand. Large heaps of carrier material might cause leaf damage, so make sure the material is distributed as thin, even layer.
Predafeed can be mixed with a broad range of Koppert predatory mites species, and can also be used in combination with predatory mite sachets.
Best working conditions Predafeed
Carpoglyphus lactis is tolerant to a wide range of conditions and generally survive in conditions suitable for predatory mites. They can be applied when predatory mites are being used in the crop. They are still being consumed when dead but not when they are completely dried out. The use in very dry conditions is therefore not recommended.
