Mattijs Bodegom from Koppert appointed as Chairman of Artemis and Council Member of IBMA

Koppert is proud that Mattijs Bodegom, Global Marcom Manager at Koppert, has been elected as Chairman of Artemis and Council Member of the European association IBMA. These roles offer a unique opportunity to strengthen our mission both nationally and across Europe: making agriculture and horticulture more sustainable.

Mattijs has gained extensive knowledge of biological crop protection, both nationally and internationally. “In these new roles, I have connections with policymakers, both in the Netherlands and Europe. That makes the combination of Artemis and IBMA so powerful,” explains Mattijs. “I get energized by strengthening our network and connecting with policymakers and other key stakeholders. It is both a responsibility and an opportunity to act as an ambassador for the sector.”

Advocating interests

Artemis is the Dutch trade association of producers and distributors of biological crop protection and biostimulants. “Artemis wants to actively reach out, and that perfectly aligns with what I consider important. As chairman, I advocate for the interests of our members and work closely with the director, who focuses more on substantive matters. The mission of Artemis – promoting the use of biological solutions – perfectly aligns with Koppert's mission: 100% sustainable agriculture worldwide. And that drives me.”

Sharing knowledge and increase influence

The organization has a strong connection with European partners, such as the IBMA (International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association). IBMA represents the biocontrol industry and promotes regulation in Europe. “We have an important position in the crop protection industry. With these roles, I can actively contribute to increase awareness and policy-making. It is important to share knowledge, collaborate, and ensure that our sector has a strong voice,” says Mattijs.

About his role as Council Member at IBMA, he adds: “I look forward to being part of an organization that can make its voice heard at the European level. A significant part of the regulation takes place there. This is an opportunity to strengthen the interests of the entire sector.”

Working together for a sustainable future

With this dual leadership role, Mattijs will contribute to the further sustainability of agriculture and horticulture. “In recent years, I have seen how important it is for our sector to strengthen our position within the chain. I am grateful for the trust and look forward to actively contributing with Artemis and IBMA to the approval of biological agents, sharing knowledge, and increase public awareness. It is time to accelerate.”
