Sadhguru visits Koppert during 100-day motorbike mission to save soil

Today we welcomed Conscious Planet-initiator Sadhguru at our head office. Sadhguru is one of India’s best-known visionaries. Monday he started a 100-day motorbike journey from London to India to raise awareness for his #Savesoil campaign.

During a tour through our Experience Centre Sadhguru learned about Koppert’s biological crop protection solutions and our efforts towards a 100% sustainable agriculture. Sadghuru then met with Meiny Prins of Priva and Rob Baan of Koppert Cress. Together with Priva and Koppert Cress we contribute to the international platform EatThis. a network of horticultural companies and organizations that concentrates on the importance of healthy produce and develops new ideas regarding the future of safe and sustainably produced food. This event is organized by the Conscious Planet movement, supported by The Hague Business Agency (The Hague municipality), Horizon11 and EatThis.

The Conscious Planet – Save Soil movement strives to inspire world leaders, visionaries, influencers and 3,5 billion people in 193 countries to take joint action on saving our soils and to support long term government policy to revive and regenerate soils. Sadhguru: ‘It doesn’t matter how much wealth, education and money we have, our children cannot enjoy their lives unless we restore our soils and water resources. Conscious Planet is the only way forward.’

According to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), more than 90% of the earth’s soil will be degraded by 2050, leading to global catastrophes such as food and water shortages, droughts and famines, climate change, mass migrations and extinction of species at an unprecedented pace.

The Save Soil movement is being supported by various global authorities and agencies like the UNCCD and the World Food Program. World leaders as the famous nature conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall and His Holiness the Dalai Lama support the movement as well as business leaders like Marc Benioff (Salesforce) and spiritual leaders and celebrities like Deepak Chopra, Victoria Azarenka, Rosario Dawson, Tony Robbins, Maluma, will.i.am and Sza.
