Focus on Date Palms
Date palms are one of the most important crops in the Middle East and three pest management companies have combined their forces to tackle the Red Palm Weevil (RPW) head-on. Koppert Biological Systems, TEC-IB and ICSA Technologies are working together to offer farmers in the Gulf region and beyond a highly effective package that focuses on the intensive control of this major pest.
Koppert has established a partnership together with TEC-IB (remote sensing solutions) and ISCA Technologies (environmentally friendly, natural and pheromone based tools and solutions) and will now be able to offer a complete control system against Red Palm Weevil.
‘This intensified approach to what is a significant problem for date palm farmers, has never before been this focused,’ says Koppert’s Export Manager MEA & India, Yassin Lahiani. ‘We now have three reputable biological pest control companies working together on one major pest, so the results should be impressive.’
