Target
Many mealybug species in all stages of development. CRYPTOBUG-L is recommended when mealybug infestations are increasing and when the mealybugs are found in colonies.

Introduction

  • Among foliage (including infected foliage)
  • In the evening
  • Release individually on the leaves, in DiBox or using Mini Airbug

Environmental conditions
Temperature must be above 16°C.

Storage and handling
Biological beneficials have a very short life expectancy and therefore need to be introduced into the crop as soon as possible after receipt. Storing them for a period can have a negative impact on their quality and is only possible under the conditions described below. Koppert B.V. is not liable for any loss of quality if the product is stored for longer than recommended and/or under incorrect conditions.

Appearance

  • Larvae: up to 13mm in length; body is covered with wax-like filaments. They resemble the mealybugs, but are more robust and mobile.
  • Pupae: in hidden places on the underside of leaves or at vein junctions

Note: When the larvae have just emerged from the packaging, they have no waxy coating; it will grow within few hours.

Mode of action
The larvae and the beetles eat the mealybugs in their entirety.

Visual effect
The mealybugs are eaten in their entirety. Cryptolaemus montrouzieri activity is also indicated by the presence of empty egg pouches. Larvae can also be mistaken at the first glance as large mealybugs.
