A tropical fruit that is called papaya, papaw or pawpaw in different countries, is the fruit of the Carica papaya tree of the family Caricaceae. First cultivated in Mexico, it is now grown in most tropical regions around the world. The papaya fruit is 15-45 cm in length and between 10-30 cm in diameter. Its soft skin is an amber to orange colour.
