IFTF 2019 - Koppert presents its innovative scouting app
A new scouting tool – Natutec Scout – will be the focus of Koppert Biological Systems’ stand at this year’s International Floritrade Fair held annually at Vijfhuizen in the Netherlands from 6-8 November. A leading innovator when it comes to biological solutions, Koppert’s Natutec Scout is currently being used by a number of leading tomato growers in the Netherlands.
The IFTF is the world’s prime trade exhibition for international flower growers and buyers. It annually attracts participants from more than 100 countries with visitors from as far afield as the US, South Africa and China. Visitors from all over the world come to the fair to see the latest developments in cut-flowers and ornamentals.
‘Retail has increasingly stringent regulations restricting the use of chemical residues and growers see us as informed advisors when it comes to biological alternatives for cut flowers and other ornamentals. It’s no longer just about food products such as fruit and vegetables anymore, but about ornamentals,’ remarks Jenette Douma, Manager of Koppert’s Crop Team Ornamentals. ‘Together with Global G.A.P., Koppert is now looking at a global crop protection protocol to support growers who aim for more sustainable cultivation.’
Koppert’s Natutec Scout will have pride of place at Koppert’s Innovation Quarter at the fair. This tool does the work of scanning for pests using image recognition. The user then enters the count so that a dashboard can interpret the results into schematic overviews of the situation in your greenhouse. The tool allows growers to optimize the data collection of greenhouse pests so that hotspots can be treated as rapidly and effectively as possible.
Our consultants will be at hand to show visitors how the Natutec Scout tool works in a series of demonstrations, and give visitors the latest news on Koppert’s innovative biological solutions for prevailing pests and diseases.
