Product details

Mode of action

Macan is a foliar fungicide containing a high concentration of dormant spores of the unique bacteria Bacillus velezensis CECT 8237 and is carefully selected for its powerful disease control. Upon application, the unique formulation with in-product adjuvant allow droplets to spread evenly across the leaf, ensuring optimal coverage and maximizing efficacy right from the start. The spores germinate as soon as they reach the plant, colonizing the leaf surface. There, the bacteria compete with pathogens for space and nutrients, effectively restricting their growth. As the bacterial cells grow, they produce a variety of metabolites, which disrupts fungal cell membranes, causing cell leakage and death. This prevents the growth of mycelia and the germination of pathogenic fungal spores.

Directions for use

Preparation

Thoroughly clean the tank and nozzles of the application equipment to remove any residues of insecticides, herbicides, or chemical fungicides. Ensure precise calibration of the spraying equipment to achieve optimal plant coverage. Fill the sprayer tank to one-third of its capacity. Then, start agitation and gradually add the required amount of Macan. Finally, fill the remainder of the tank with water. Maintain continuous agitation during both the preparation and application of the mixture. The mixture should be applied within 4 hours of preparation.

Application

Foliar application

  • For application, a boom sprayer must be used and calibrated to operate at a constant pressure and spray volume;
  • Apply in a manner that ensures good coverage of the aerial parts of the plants without causing runoff.

Aerial application (soybean and cotton)

  • Apply using agricultural aircraft in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The application volume should be 30-50 liters of water per hectare;
  • Maintain wind speeds below 10 km/h during application to minimize spray drift as much as possible.

Dosage

Check the product package insert to find the recommended dosage for each biological target. If in doubt, contact a Koppert consultant/technical representative for advice on the best strategy for your situation.
