Extensive demo for outdoor crops

The Koppert Outdoor Experience Centre is an extensive demo, located in Dronten, The Netherlands. At this demo field, we are showing our latest biological crop protection solutions for different pests and diseases in outdoor crops, like onion, potatoes, pumpkin, broccoli, parsnips, winter wheat and carrot. Our solutions are targeting various pests and diseases, like bean seed fly, thrips, onion fly, Fusarium, Phytium and Rhizoctonia.

During a visit, our specialists will be happy to show you around our demo field. This way you can view and assess all applications yourself. You can schedule a visit by clicking on the link below. A visit is possible on Wednesday or Thursday. You can reserve a time slot during the booking process.

We look forward to welcome you at our Koppert Outdoor Experience Centre and to discuss how we can help you to maximize your yield.

Protect your crops with Capirel

Bean seed fly (Delia platura) and onion fly (Delia antiqua) are common pests in crops such as beans and onions.

Adult flies of bean seed fly lay eggs near bean plants, and the larvae feed on seeds, roots, and cotyledons of young seedlings. This damage weakens the plants and can lead to significant yield losses. The onion fly lays eggs on the young leaves, necks of onion seedlings, or in the soil near the base of onion plants. The larvae tunnel into the onion bulbs, harming the roots and foliage, resulting in stunted growth, decreased yield, or even plant death.

Biological control with beneficial nematodes, such as Steinernema feltiae (Capirel), offers an effective, natural solution. When applied to the soil, these microscopic organisms parasitize and kill the larvae, helping to protect seedlings from early damage.

At our Outdoor Experience Centre we are showing the benefits of Capirel.

Control soil-borne diseases with Trianum

Soil-borne diseases are a rapidly increasing problem for growers worldwide, causing severe crop losses.

At our Outdoor Experience Centre we are controlling Phytium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia and Sclerotinia in parsnip, onion, carrot and chicory with Trianum.

Trianum is a biofungicide, based upon the unique fungus Trichoderma harzianum T-22. Trianum is offering many positive characteristics that are beneficial for growers, as it not only controls soil borne diseases, but also improves growth which results in a stronger and more resilient crop.

Control thrips in onion with Orius

Thrips are an important cause of damage in onion.

Orius is a predatory bug which can control these thrips. The adults and nymphs pierce thrips larvae and adults with their sucking mouthparts and suck out the contents. Over the last couple of years we have seen very positive results in various trials in Europe.

We are happy to present the efficacy of Orius against thrips at our Outdoor Experience Centre.

Increase your yield with Natupol Booster

Natupol Booster is designed specifically for outdoor crops with a flowering period up to four weeks. The hive contains a very large colony of bumblebees and is designed for use in in crops producing much nectar. They are suitable for mild and warmer climate zones.

Field trials and long-term commercial experiences in cucurbits in various regions around the world, have proven that our bumblebees can improve yields by 5 to 40%.

At our Outdoor Experience Centre we are presenting the effect of the usage of Natupol Booster in pumpkin.

Biofungicide seed treatment for cereal crops

Pseudomonas chlororaphis strain MA342 (Cerall) is a seed treatment for cereal crops like wheat, rye, and triticale, used in both conventional and organic farming. It controls seed-borne fungal diseases through direct pathogen suppression and long-lasting protection, while also promoting plant growth. Effective even in cold conditions, Cerall is easy to apply and compatible with standard seed-treatment equipment.

You can check out the use of Cerall in wheat crops at the Outdoor Experience Center.

In control with Koppert

To make our world more sustainable, we need ways of growing that are both safe and healthy. We believe the answers to these agricultural challenges lie in nature itself. So we partner with nature. And help our planet to find its balance. Using natural enemies to combat pests, bumblebees for pollination, microbials, and biostimulants that support, protect, and strengthen crops. Improving plant health both above and underground.

We were founded in 1967 by Jan Koppert, a Dutch grower with a clear vision; the world needed an alternative for chemical pesticides. He was the first to find a natural solution to combat the pest in his crop. Setting in motion a major transformation towards sustainable agriculture. For over 50 years, we have been pushing agricultural innovation, and these efforts have impact. Growers worldwide use our products and knowledge to restore the natural balance in their crops. Improving crop health, resilience, and yield.

Together we are meeting the highest food safety demands on our way to our ultimate goal: 100% sustainable agriculture. A clear goal we can’t complete on our own. That’s why we team up with growers, partners, universities, research stations, and governmentalbodies worldwide. Together we contribute to the better health of people and the planet. So let’s continue to move forward and Partner with Nature.
