It offers many benefits, such as healthier crops, no chemical residues, no pre-harvest intervals, and safe use. With Koppert's advanced solutions, you stay in control with proven techniques for targeted pest management. Koppert’s expertise ensures reliable protection, helping you achieve strong, healthy crops and consistent results.

Our solutions for your pests in outdoor crops

  • Effective control of onion fly and bean seed fly

Effective control of onion fly and bean seed fly

Onion fly (Delia antiqua) and bean seed fly (Delia Platura) are common pests that damage various allium plants and are a major concern for growers.

Biological control with beneficial nematodes can be an effective strategy to control the onion fly and bean seed fly. The beneficial nematode species Steinernema feltiae (Capirel) is an effective natural enemy of onion fly and bean seed fly larvae. These nematodes are applied by spraying. After application, the nematodes go in search of the larvae, which they eventually kill. The fact that this biological control strategy is safe for humans and non-target organisms offers several advantages over chemical control.

  • Effective mealybug control

    Effective mealybug control

Mealybugs are a growing threat to grape and citrus growers, causing significant damage to crops. For effective biological control, Citripar (parasitic wasps) and Cryptobug (predatory beetles) provide a powerful solution. These natural enemies actively target mealybug infestations, helping to reduce populations and protect crop health. By integrating these beneficial insects, growers can achieve sustainable pest management while maintaining high-quality yields.

  • Natural shields against soil-borne diseases

    Natural shields against soil-borne diseases

Soil-borne diseases are a rapidly increasing problem for growers worldwide, causing severe crop losses.

Trianum is a biofungicide, based upon the unique fungus Trichoderma harzianum T-22. Trianum is offering many positive characteristics that are beneficial for growers, as it not only controls soil-borne diseases like Fusarium, Pythium, Rhizoctonia and Sclerotinia, but also improves growth which results in a stronger and more resilient crops.

Advantages biological crop protection

No pre-harvest intervals

Most biological crop protection products do not require a pre-harvest interval, giving you greater flexibility when harvesting. This control over the timing of your harvest can lead to higher crop quality and yield.

Minimal resistance from pests

Biological control agents, such as beneficial insects, mites and nematodes, provide long-lasting pest management solutions. Pests typically do not develop resistance to natural enemies compared to chemical pesticides. As a result, biological crop protection provides a lasting solution for managing pests over time.

No chemical residues

Biologicals leave very little to no residue on crops, which reduces the risk of pesticide residues entering the food chain and alleviates consumer concern about chemical exposure. With minimal residue, you can ensure your produce meets the rapidly increasing quality and safety standards set by retailers, giving you control over your distribution.

Easy to integrate into IPM strategy

Biocontrol agents can be incorporated easily into existing farming practices and your integrated pest management (IPM) system. You can use standard equipment to apply biological products, and these solutions are often compatible with other crop protection products.

In control of future chemical bans

As the availability and efficacy of conventional pesticides diminish, growers can benefit from adopting biocontrol practices early, expanding their knowledge on biocontrol, and ensuring they are prepared for future bans.
