Use Drososan, in combination with fruit fly attractant, to capture fruit flies. In particular Spotted Wing Drosophila (Drosophila suzukii) in soft fruit.
How do Drososan work?
Once filled with the attractant, the fruit flies are attracted to the trap. The flies enter the trap through the black grid and sink in the liquid attractant. This black grid has been specifically designed to prevent the undesired capture of other insects which makes the trap inaccessible to larger insects and beneficials.
How to use Drososan
Application Drososan
Instructions for usage:
Fill the trap with approx. 200 ml of the Fruit Fly Attractant.
Hang the trap on a branch or stick using the enclosed hook.
Hang the traps when the temperature is above 10 °C and the trees/bushes are starting to bear fruit. The most effective place to hang the traps is in the shade along the sides of the plot, in the hedge and on the crop. If the crops are not very tall, make sure the traps hang at least one metre above the ground. With regards to taller crops, the traps can be attached to the crops.
Once the luring substance in the trap has attracted too many flies or has evaporated, the traps must be refilled.
Be aware that the traps will catch fewer Drosophila suzukii when the fruit starts to ripen.
Application time: Install the traps as soon as the temperature exceeds 10°C, coinciding with the beginning of the adult flights and the initiation of fruit development in the trees and shrubs. Make sure to install the traps before the fruits begin to colour and ripen or else the catches are minimized.
Application number: Drososan traps are installed once and the luring substance should be replaced as soon as it is excessively contaminated with flies or has evaporated. Proceed with weekly assessments.
