Use for

Use for

Cedomon is a biological seed dressing that protects seeds against fungal diseases, hence supports growth and development of young cereal plants up to the five-leaf stage. Suitable for organic and conventional cultivation.

Diseases

Seed-borne fungal diseases; Fusarium spp., common bunt (Tilletia spp.), leaf stripe (Pyrenophora graminea), leaf blotch (Pyrenophora chaetomioides), net blotch (Pyrenophora teres), covered smut (Ustilago hordei) and leaf spot (Septoria passerinii). Always check the local product label before usage. Not in all countries where Cedomon is registered are all crop-disesase combinations on the label.

Crops

Barley, spelt, oats. Do not apply Cedomon on de-husked spelt seeds.

How it works

How it works

Mode of action

The bacteria Pseudomonas chlororaphis MA342, present in Cedomon, multiply on the seed and compete with pathogens attached to the seed. The bacteria produce substances that have a lethal effect on the fungal diseases on the seed. After sowing, the Pseudomonas bacteria continue to multiply. On the roots of the crop, the growing bacteria compete with the pathogens for space and nutrients, inhibiting pathogen development and thus protecting the roots and the plant. The bacterium induces systemic resistance, this strongly increases the defense capacity of the young plants. Growth is especially promoted under stress conditions.
